What happens when the very American Conan O'Brien plays the very Japanese Final Fantasy XV? Confusion, mainly.

The talk show host was joined by Elijah Wood for the latest edition of Clueless Gamer, in which the duo played through Final Fantasy XV. Or, at least, played through a small part of it.

O'Brien, who as the segment title suggests isn't much of a gamer, was bewildered by the slow pace of the game's opening chapters. If you've been waiting for Final Fantasy XV for 10 years -- like myself -- the comic's assessment isn't what you want to hear

"We've been playing now longer than I've played any game for Clueless Gamer," he began, "I don't even know what we achieved, I don't know what we were trying to achieve, I have no sense of satisfaction.

"This whole thing is like an epic, blue-balls waste of time."

So bemused was he by the game's pace that he dressed down Square Enix employees, "calling them mass murderers of people's time."

The company took it in stride, or was at least keen to try and nervously laugh along, posting this tweet:

First announced as Final Fantasy Versus XIII at E3 in 2006, the long-awaited game finally hits stores on November 29. It's available on both PS4 and Xbox One.
