Dell gets down to business (live blog)
PC maker unveils a "new generation" of gear for business computing--some 39 machines, including portables, desktops, and workstations. Dell also plans a 10-inch, Windows 7 tablet for later this year.

Dell is holding a business-oriented product unveiling today in San Francisco and CNET will be on the scene to bring you the news as it happens.
The event starts at 10 a.m. PT, and is slated to run an hour in length.
Dell's invitation, which went out to news outlets in late January, is on the vague side, saying only that it will be offering "an exclusive look at a new generation of business computing solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of IT and end users."
Included in those solutions could be another tablet PC--the form factor that's been attributed to a slowdown in consumer PC spending. Dell already offers a 7-inch tablet, dubbed the Streak, however it runs Google's Android operating system as opposed to Microsoft's Windows.
Previous forays by Dell into the tablet world include the Latitude XT, which hit the market in late 2007 as a laptop with a screen that could swivel 180 degrees and fold over its keyboard. That's since been succeeded by the XT2, as well as the smaller, and consumer-oriented Inspiron Duo, which puts the screen swivel inside the display lid, instead of at the display hinge.
