Cray hires IBM supercomputer exec
Cray has hired longtime IBM executive Peter Ungaro to be vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, the Seattle-based supercomputer specialist said last week. At IBM, Ungaro was vice president of worldwide high-performance computing sales, involved in projects such as IBM's contract with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for nuclear weapons research.
Ungaro replaces Jerry Loe, who will work with Chief Executive James Rottsolk on corporate initiatives and on leading the company's service organization, Cray said.
