Three new Canon inkjets print Instagram pics directly from feed, comments included

Canon announced three new series of inkjet printers with improved ink cartridges, faster installation times and cloud printing access by way of Canon's updated print app for smartphones.

Canon Pixma MG7720 Canon

Imagine you just just got back from a week-long holiday vacation with friends and you're browsing through all the Instagram photos of your time together.

If you start getting nostalgic and decide to save your favorites, it's pretty easy to just take a screenshot for safekeeping in your photos folder, but most people don't go through the hassle of cropping and formatting those pics to print them out on an inkjet at home.

Canon just made that process a lot easier with an update to its smartphone app that lets you print directly from your Instagram feed.

Canon Pixma MG6820 Canon

Of course, Canon wouldn't miss out on the chance to introduce new Pixma printers to help you out along the way.

Available now, the rollout includes the new PIXMA MG7720 ($199), MG6800 ($149), and MG5700 ($99) all-in-one series printers, each with print, scan, and copy functionality and individual ink tanks for easy refills.

The higher-end MG7720 even uses a brand new ink formula that includes grey ink for improved tonal gradations and the hardware comes in black, white, gold and red to match your aesthetic palette.

More than hardware updates, the new printers are designed to focus on creative tools for students, designers, and other creative professionals. Once you download the updated Maxify print app for iOS and Android, you can output 4x6-inch photos directly from your photos folder or Instagram feed, including comments (or without if you choose).

You can also print photos stored on popular online destinations like Facebook, Twitter, Photobucket, Dropbox and plenty more companies in the Canon partnership pipeline.

As usual, all the new inkjet models come bundled with an additional software suite that includes My Image Garden for photo organization and scrapbooking and Full HD Movie Print for pulling HD photos from compatible Canon digital camcorders.
