This fan clips to your sleeves to keep your armpits cool

If the antiperspirant isn't cutting it, how about a fan for your pits?


Sunshine is great, but let's face it...summer can be the pits. And if you want to protect your pits from summer, a Japanese company has a quirky solution.

The Thanko Electric Armpit Clip-on Cooler Fan is a 30-gram (1-ounce) clip-on fan that attaches itself to the front buttons or the short sleeve of a shirt, blowing cool air to the body's more perspiration-prone areas.

Running on AAA batteries, it lasts between 5 and 9 hours, long enough for a fairly serious summer pilgrimage. It can also be charged up using a USB-based power bank.

It's not the first fan-related apparel to come out of Japan. 2007 brought with it the necktie fan, a predecessor to the even-more-perplexing air-conditioned shirt of 2008.

The Thanko Electric Armpit Clip-on Cooler Fan can be bought from the company site, priced at ¥3,800 (about $35, £25 or AU$50).
