Sony's PlayStation 4 console is set to hit shop shelves within months, and there's now an awful lot we know about the follow-up to 2006's PlayStation 3.

While Sony has clued us in on some crucial facts, however, the Japanese tech giant is still holding plenty of cards close to its chest. In the video above, we rattle through everything you need to know about Sony's upcoming gaming gadget, as well as the facts and features that remain a mystery -- for now.

The PlayStation 4 is expected to come out before Christmas, and will do battle with a new console from Microsoft, as well as Nintendo's Wii U. Oh, and let's not forget those pesky Apple and Android tablets that are competing for gamers' attention.
