Occasionally, when using one of the many great features included with MobileMe, users will encounter an error telling them their iDisk is full. The error may occur when copying files to your iDisk, syncing to MobileMe, using iWeb to publish your Web site to MobileMe, or using Backup to back up to your iDisk.
Users may also find that the error message differs in each of these situations. Possible errors encountered are:
- "The operation cannot be completed because the disk is full."
- "MobileMe Sync Error: Unable to complete sync. Your iDisk is almost full."
- "Publish Error: Your iDisk is full."
- "Backup failed: There is not enough free space at the destination for the backup."
Many of the services that connect with MobileMe use the iDisk in some way. In order for these services to work properly, iDisk must have sufficient space. Many times, the issue is related to the way your iDisk space is allocated. You may access your storage settings via MobileMe. Simply log in to your account at me.com, click on the settings 'gear' icon, re-enter your password, and click on Storage Settings. You will now be able to see how your iDisk storage is allocated. Notice that you can change the amount that your MobileMe Mail uses. To increase the storage capacity of the rest of your iDisk, decrease the storage allowance on MobileMe Mail. You can also purchase additional space if needed.
