mini-mini-microwave SkyMall

Have microwaves really become so large and unwieldy that we need to make specialized miniature models? SkyMall, which never seems to disappoint (at least on long flights), is offering up this teeny tiny mini mic, ostensibly for cubicle related emergencies.

Measuring up at a measly 10.5 inches tall by 12 inches wide by 10 inches deep, it's safe to say that the Iwavecube Personal Microwave is probably one of, if not the, smallest little block of microwave on the block. I don't have a bag of microwaveable popcorn at the ready, but I'm not convinced a fully popped bag will actually even fit inside this microwave.

With what has to be an extremely small cubic area of useable microwave space (the internal area is not given by the manufacturer), it's no wonder The Sharper Image decided to showcase a cup of coffee for the product photo. It would be a minor miracle if this appliance could handle much more.

The Lock Cup Efrat Gommeh

Well, that might not be entirely too bad for office workers undergoing strained inter-office relationships. Perhaps if you really, really dislike running into your co-workers in the break room, this little coffee warmer will be perfect for you. Maybe you've suffered an alarming amount of community microwave-related mishaps, or worse yet, you've experienced coffee cup thievery. No longer will you have to resort to locking your mug from your coworkers when not in your personal possession. Just stow it away in your very own microwave and it will always be at the ready.

But what of the popcorn? Can this microwave handle this most important function? If you're in need of a microwave, I guess you're just gonna have to pick one up and find out. Hey, shipping is bound to be less for this thing, right?
