Liquid Computing gets ex-Sun sales chief

AMD-based server maker hires Bob DeMartino as it moves its Opteron machines out of development and into sales.

A new worldwide sales chief has arrived at Liquid Computing, a start-up selling servers whose four-processor modules can be linked to form more powerful multiprocessor system. Bob DeMartino has been named vice president of sales, the company said Wednesday, a significant move as the company moves out of development and into sales.

Martino worked for and more recently worked at a start-up building processors for wireless networking. Liquid Computing's systems, like new models from Sun, use Advanced Micro Devices' Opteron processor.
