The Pepper Pro Automatic Peppermill with Light Wrapables
There's nothing like fresh ground pepper on just about every meal. I actually have two peppermills on my table: one for black pepper and one for white. I've spent a lot of time grinding pepper, though, and I've been on the lookout for a good automatic peppermill. The grinds peppercorns with just a touch of a button--and it's got a bonus: a high intensity light that puts a spotlight on the dish you're peppering. A light does sound a little unusual for a peppermill, when you first hear about it, but it does come in handy. If you've ever overpeppered a dish because you couldn't see the ground pepper on your food, you'll understand how useful a little extra light can be. The Pepper Pro Automatic Peppermill with Light is fully adjustable, capable of cranky out everything from a fine grind to a coarse grind. It is a little larger than any of the peppermills I've seen outside of restaurants: it's 8.5 inches long and 2 inches wide, but it's not awkward to use. It's priced at $36.95 and comes with a spare light bulb and peppercorns (but not the four AA batteries needed to run it).
