LG at CES 2014: Join us at 8 a.m. PT Monday (live blog)

The Korean electronics maker will showcase its latest wares -- including a WebOS TV and an expected fitness band -- during its press conference in Las Vegas.

Move over, Samsung. You're not the only Korean electronics maker in town.

Crosstown rival LG Electronics on Monday will host a press conference at 8 a.m. in the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas to demonstrate its newest products. CNET's David Katzmaier, Lynn La, Sarah Tew, and I will bring you all the news and commentary live from the event starting around 7:30 a.m. PT.

We already know many devices that LG will introduce, including TVs, PCs, and a fitness band.

The South Korean company, which has struggled to compete with bigger rivals such as Samsung, has started to gain some traction in the market. A big reason for that is its partnership with Google. The Nexus 4 smartphone from last year continually sold out online, and the Nexus 5, launchedin October, has received strong reviews.

Despite recent gains by LG, the company continues to face worries about tough competition and slowing growth in the high end of the smartphone market. It also continues to face steep rivalry versus Samsung and other vendors in TVs, a market that's stagnating.

Monday, LG will show off its newest TVs, including some using 4K/Ultra-high def resolution and some using organic light-emitting diode, or OLED, technology. That includes TVs such as the 77EC9800, a 77-inch, curved OLED TV with 4K resolution. Perhaps most innovative in TVs will be LG's first TV running WebOS, Palm's ill-fated operating system that LG acquired from Hewlett-Packard.

LG also has said it will introduce several new PCs, including one all-in-one desktop, called the LG Chromebase, that runs Google's Chrome operating system. The company also will have a new Ultra PC and improved Tab-Book.

We can't forget about wearables. Rivals Samsung and Sony have already made their first plays in the market, and Apple is sure to jump in soon. LG'sfirst attemptis expected to come in the form of a fitness band, more like the Nike FuelBand than the Galaxy Gear.
