Hewlett-Packard on Monday began selling a less expensive PC for businesses. As previously reported, the company's new HP Compaq Business Desktop d220 was designed to offer a basic, but low price desktop computer for employees of small and medium businesses. The d220 desktop's most basic configuration starts at $349, after rebates, when purchased directly from HP, a company representative said. The base configuration include a 2GHz Intel Celeron processor, 128MB of RAM, a 40GB hard drive, a CD-ROM, a keyboard and a mouse. Shipping charges are not included in the price.
