HP will announce some new laptops tomorrow -- oh wait, thanks to the wonder of the Interwebs, you can see the HP ProBook 5310m and Pavilion dm3 now
Across the pond, HP has announced a smorgasbord of new computers, a day ahead of the UK announcement. Fortunately, we've managed to get a sneak preview of the new HP ProBook 5310m (pictured above) and Pavilion dm3 (shown below) 13-inch laptops, thanks to the wonder of the World Wide Web. Yes, HP -- Europeans can see the Internet too!
Our US colleague Scott Stein has had a gander at the specs, telling us that the 5310m has a 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SP9300 CPU, or 1.2GHz Celeron SU2300 ultra-low-voltage processor. It features an anodised aluminium chassis, a raised keyboard, and is a mere 24mm thick. You get three USB ports and up to 320GB of memory. It starts at $700 (£425).
The dm3 has a new dual-core 1.6GHz AMD Neo X2 CPU with a 320GB hard drive, or 1.3GHz Intel Pentium SU4100 ULV processor with 500GB hard drive. It sports four USB ports and an optical drive. It's slightly thicker, but cheaper, at $550 (£330).
HP claims 7 hours of battery life for the 5310m and 10 hours for the dm3. Both support 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and come pre-installed with Windows 7. We'll line you up with UK prices tomorrow when HP figures out this here Internet thingy.
