Hewlett-Packard has hired Andy Mattes, a 20-year veteran of Siemens, to oversee sales for its Technology Solutions Group, a $33 billion business unit that produces storage systems and business services. As senior vice president and chief sales officer for the unit, Mattes will report to Ann Livermore, executive vice president of the group.

Mattes, 44, was previously president and chief executive officer of the U.S. subsidiary of Siemens Communications, which makes communications gear for wireless, fixed and business networks.
