Sometimes your Snapchat Spectacles won't play nice.

Maybe you've connected Spectacles to a few different devices and now they won't pair with your phone. The official support page only walks you through the initial pairing process -- and if you're getting error messages, this process obviously won't work.

If you are having difficulty pairing Spectacles, try one of these methods.

  1. Force Bluetooth pairing mode. Press and hold on the button for seven seconds. Then try to pair again through the Snapchat app.
  2. Try a soft reset. Get a timer and hold down the button on Spectacles for 50 seconds. You'll see a light sequence of three dots moving around the LED light to indicate the reset is happening. Try pairing again.
  3. Try a hard reset. Press and hold the button for 55 seconds, then release. Within 10 seconds, press the button once more, but don't hold it. A light sequence will appear on the glasses, with the small dots moving around the LED light and filling up dots as the reset progresses. You may lose footage from Spectacles that hasn't already been downloaded to Snapchat when you perform a hard reset.

Still having trouble?

Try this one last step: "forget" the Spectacles from your Bluetooth devices. In iOS, go to Settings > Bluetooth and tap on the "i" icon next to the name of your Spectacles, then "Forget this device."
