Google Nexus 7 32GB for £200 spotted in Argos catalogue
Google's superb Nexus 7 will be offered with a beefier 32GB of storage for only £200, according to Argos' Christmas guide.

Google's Nexus 7 tablet will apparently bump up to 32GB of storage, in a new model featured in Argos' Christmas guide. Even better, the beefier version will be offered for only £200, the same price as the current 16GB model.
The Nexus 7 product page on the Google Play store still isn't willing to acknowledge the existence of the higher-capacity model. Rumours of the device have been circling for a while now though and its appearance in the Argos catalogue -- spotted by TeckComesFirst -- pretty much makes it a done deal, assuming it's not a misprint.
The current Nexus 7 models are available in only 8 and 16GB capacities, which while capacious enough for the bare essentials, doesn't offer much extra room for bumper apps such as Nova 3 or Real Racing 2 that can take up a couple of gigabytes each. The Nexus 7 sadly doesn't allow for expandable storage with a microSD card, so it's wonderful to finally see a roomier model on offer.
The listed price is particularly surprising, as it's basically the same as the 16GB variant. If correct, it would most likely indicate Google intends to drop the price of the other models. If you're hoping to invest in a tiny tablet before Christmas, it could well be worth holding off for a couple of weeks, as you could potentially grab yourself a bargain.
The current price for the 8GB model is a mere £160. If the 32GB model pushes the prices down across the board, we could be looking at a sub-£140 price tag. That would be ludicrously cheap considering what the Nexus packs in. Not only does it boast a powerful quad-core chip, it has a high-definition screen and the latest Android Jelly Bean operating system. Google might alternatively discontinue the 8GB and switch the current pricing scheme to the 16GB and 32GB versions.
Apple's much-discussed iPad mini looks set for a launch this coming Tuesday, so it's probably wise to wait and see what it has in store. Rumours point towards a 7.85-inch screen, and a much more affordable price than the full-sized iPads. It's unlikely it'll challenge the Nexus 7's price tag though, so if you're on a budget I expect Google will still be the best value.
