If you're looking for a basic printer, scanner, and copier on the cheap, they don't get any cheaper than the HP Deskjet 1050.

This is just nuts.

Wal-Mart has the HP Deskjet 1050 all-in-one printer for $20 shipped (plus sales tax in most states). Yes, the ink costs more than the printer. Yes, it comes without a USB cable. Should you buy one anyway? Yes!

Update: Sold out!

(Interestingly, Wal-Mart offered this same deal as a Black Friday doorbuster, which further reinforces my belief that Black Friday is a lot of hooey.)

As you may recall, it was just last week that I mentioned a Canon Pixma photo printer for $23 (now expired). That was just a printer. The Deskjet 1050 also scans and copies. Heck, the headline for this post really should have been, "Get a color copier for $20 shipped."

Is it any good? I have no firsthand experience with this model, but the dozen or so user reviews on Wal-Mart's site are mostly positive. (The big gripe seems to be the lack of a USB cable, which is a head-scratcher given that printers rarely come with one. Anyway, Monoprice has a 6-foot USB printer cable for $2.95 out the door.)

The Deskjet 1050 includes and incorporates HP 61 black and tri-color ink cartridges (which, FYI, Wal-Mart sells for $13.50 and $19.50, respectively). As I always say, ink costs what ink costs, so you might as well get the best deal you can on the printer.

Also, unlike the aforementioned Canon, the Deskjet comes with a full one-year warranty from HP. Act fast: this could sell out quickly.

Would I buy one of these to use as my primary printer? Probably not, but I'd definitely grab one for making copies, letting the kids print their artwork, and so on. Heck, it never hurts to have a spare printer on hand, just in case.

Bonus deal: Target has a Sylvania 22-inch LCD HDTV for $157.50 shipped (with coupon code ER5PVIIO, and not including sales tax). That's the lowest price I've ever seen on a TV of that size.

Bonus deal No. 2: Another crazy-good deal, this one brought to my attention by reader Carl: Staples has a 24-inch AOC LCD monitor for $129.98 shipped! (Plus sales tax in most states.) That's the lowest price I've ever seen on a monitor of that size.
