Fujifilm's first weather-sealed X-mount zoom slated for July

The company's new XF18-135mm lens will have beefed up image stabilization and sealing to complement the X-T1.

Now that Fujifilm has delivered its first weather-sealed X-mount camera, the pressure's on to produce a line of lenses to match. Three weather-resistant (WR) lenses were announced in January along with the X-T1 as part of its lens roadmap, but now the Fujinon XF18-135mm f3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR is a real product with a ship date -- this July -- and a price of $900 in the US, £750 in the UK and AU$1,199 in Australia.

The 27-206mm-equivalent lens incorporates a more advanced image-stabilization system that Fujifilm claims will give you 5 stops of latitude. It also claims 20-plus points of sealing. It uses internal focus and a linear motor (LM) for, presumably, quieter and faster operation. For better operation with the E-series models, it also has a physical aperture ring.
