Cubase VST floppy drive issues: a work-around

Cubase VST floppy drive issues: a work-around

CNET staff
Patrick La Roque reports that "Cubase VST 4.0 no longer recognizes its authorization when connected to an external hard drive and the Adaptec 2906 card. Since the G3 doesn't have a floppy drive and their master disk comes on a floppy....well, you get the picture."

Clifford Mould had a similar problem. However, he found that the Pace USB Floppy Expander (mentioned here last time) solved it, when used with an Imation SuperDisk. "Previously Cubase simply would not see the drive at all."

An alternative is to upgrade to Cubase's 4.03, which will allow registration over the net. (Thanks, Chris Fowler.)
