Apple may be getting ready to launch new Macs.

The tech giant plans to introduce new Macs at an October 27 event, Recode reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed sources. The event will reportedly take place at or near Apple's Cupertino, California, campus.

Apple's line of Mac laptops and desktops have gone a long time, at least in the tech world, without a major update. The last truly new model was the 12-inch MacBook in 2015. Apple's other Macs, including the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro, have only seen minor updates over the past few years.

Apple has reportedly been working on new versions of the iMac desktop, MacBook Air laptop and a thinner MacBook Pro laptop set to debut this year. Apple's future laptops are rumored to be coming with Touch ID, its fingerprint reading technology, and an OLED touch-screen strip that replaces the function keys.

Apple didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
