Apple has shown off a version of its iWork business software suite retooled for the screen of the new iPad tablet PC. Apple hopes the iPad could be the business accessory the iPhone never quite became.
The iPad version of presentation program Keynote (pictured) includes the ability to rearrange slides by dragging them with a finger. Multi-touch allows you to hold down one slide then tap on others to highlight multiple slides, before moving them all in a bundle with one swipe.
The new take on word processor Pages includes auto-wrapping text, flowing around images that can be moved with a finger. Tapping on text brings up the iPad's onscreen keyboard. Long documents can be scrolled through with a new page navigator.
iPad's Spreadsheet software Numbers benefits from a bespoke keyboard, including a numeric keypad and function options.
In a departure from the desktop version of iWork, which comes as a package, Apple will sell each of the apps separately at $10 (about £6) through the iTunes App Store.
