According to AppleInsider, Apple has publicly announced that the display issues affecting the newest 27-inch iMac models have been fixed by the company's recent updates.
iMac users have noticed flickering and yellowing of the display, which were addressed recently by both the iMac Graphics Firmware 1.0 update for the graphics processor, and then by the iMac Display Firmware Update 1.0 for the display hardware itself.
Despite these issues, the iMacs have been among the best-selling desktop computers Apple has made. The demand for the models caused gaps in supply levels that led to rumors Apple had halted production of the machines to fix the display errors.
iMac owners may still be affected by these problems if they have not properly or completely applied all the updates from Apple. If you have a 27-inch iMac, and have experienced flickering or yellowish tinges to the display, download and apply the following updates:
iMac Graphics Firmware Update 1.0
iMac Display Firmware Update 1.0
