There is no denying that fresh herbs and spices make a difference while cooking. There is, however, always the lingering possibility that they do not get used in time; freshly cut herbs don't last long. Of course, the optimal solution is to have them fresh, alive, and always at the ready.

Having a stock of growing herbs doesn't have to mean digging around in the garden. In fact, it doesn't have to even mean having a garden to dig around in (at least in the traditional sense). The Click & Grow Smart Herb Garden moves the outdoors indoors.

The countertop appliance plugs into a standard electrical outlet and does all the monitoring and work necessary to grow an continually growing indoor garden to harvest. Using a water reservoir, plant cartridges (which contain seeds and nutrients), and an integrated light source, the device is designed to create fresh edibles (flowers available, too) with a minimum of hassle.

Currently a Kickstarter project, the Smart Herb Garden is an upgrade from Click & Grow's currently available model. The addition of an LED allows for the unit to be used in any room in the house. Designed to be set up and then basically left alone, the self-monitoring garden supplies year-round fresh herbs, no matter the color of your thumb.
