AT&T announced on Wednesday that 10 new markets are officially seeing faster 4G data speeds.

With these 10 new LTE areas -- and another four cities gaining expanded coverage -- the carrier's 4G LTE network now covers 346 markets. There are no major cities in the recent expansion, but that is to be expected for a carrier on the down swing of a network build-out.

The new markets are:

  • Arkadelphia, Ark.
  • Russellville, Ark.
  • Cedartown, Ga.
  • Rome, Ga.
  • Martha's Vineyard, Mass.
  • Ardmore-Ada, Okla.
  • Durant, Okla.
  • Enid, Okla.
  • Ponca City, Okla.
  • Charleston, W. Va.

In addition to its new LTE cities, AT&T has also expanded coverage in New Orleans (Abita Springs), Buffalo, N.Y. (Hamburg), Ithaca, N.Y. (Watkins Glen, Schuyler County), and Oklahoma City (Oklahoma City and Lincoln County).

AT&T says that its 4G LTE expansion is ahead of schedule, estimating that it'll reach 400 markets by the end of 2013. With an estimated 270 million people covered by the end of of the year, Ma Bell hopes to eclipse the 300 million mark by year-end 2014.
