Apple CEO Tim Cook to speak at D10 conference
Apple's CEO Tim Cook will be a lead speaker at All Things Digital's D10 conference next month. It will be the second appearance from Cook at an industry show in recent months.
Apple CEO Tim Cook plans to make another rare public speaking appearance at a technology conference next month.
All Things Digital today said that Cook will be a speaker at the outlet's D10 conference taking place at the end of May. Cook's predecessor, late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, attended the conference in several previous years.
The appearance will be Cook's second at a conference in recent months. In mid-February, Cook appeared at the Goldman Sachs' annual Technology and Internet Conference in San Francisco to discuss everything from worker safety to the company's plans for its pile of cash and other liquid assets.
In years past, the D conference series has contained a mix of interviews with high-profile executives, as well as onstage product launches. At last year's D9 conference, for instance, Microsoft's president of Windows Steven Sinofsky gave an early preview of Windows 8.
Despite that, Apple is unlikely to unveil any new products at the show. The company has held its own events for product launches since pulling away from the Macworld Conference and Expo in 2009. Nonetheless, the company has veered off that course in some instances, such as the introduction of the latest Final Cut Pro, which was done during an impromptu keynote during the National Association of Broadcasters trade show in Las Vegas this time last year.
