Apple Mac Mini (June 2010)

The new Mac Mini is a desirable bit of kit indeed. The addition of HDMI makes it appealing to the HTPC crowd that wants to retain flexibility, but not custom build a solution. Where it hurts though is in cost and lack of extras — for the same price, you could get a Core i3 Windows 7 laptop.

Apple Mac mini 2010

The new Apple Mac mini has shot up in price, but it's also more attractive, more powerful and more capable than ever. If you're looking for a small machine that makes a fabulous all-rounder, and you're not affected by the economic downturn, then get involved

Belkin AV360 Mini-DisplayPort converter for 27-inch iMac

Belkin's AV360 iMac adapter edges out the competition by making it easier to connect HDMI-based video components to your iMac's Mini DisplayPort. We'd prefer that Apple had gone with HDMI in the iMac to begin with, but until it makes that switch, this is the adapter we'd pick.

Apple MacBook (multi-touch white 2009)

It's stingy of Apple to omit FireWire and an SD Card slot at this price, but, if these are features you won't miss, the MacBook is otherwise a great-value entry-level Apple laptop. If they are, you can always find them on the £899 MacBook Pro

Apple iMac (27-inch, 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, ATI Radeon HD 4670, fall 2009)

Apple's new 27-inch iMac will charm plenty of you with its screen size alone. Fortunately, that won't lead you astray. Behind its expansive display, Apple has packed one of the fastest all-in-ones available, and added a few useful extras to sweeten the deal. This iMac isn't perfect, but its positives far outweigh its negatives. We can think of few users to whom we wouldn't recommend this system.
