Cops' wildlife cameras catch pranksters dressed as animals
Police in Kansas get a good laugh from jokers dressed in animal costumes prancing in front of a trail camera.
Gardner, Kansas, in the US is turning out to be quite the hot spot for strange wildlife sightings.
The Gardner Police Department, responding to concerns about a possible mountain lion haunting a park, set up two motion-triggered trail cameras to keep an eye on the area. They definitely found some odd things, but none of them were mountain lions.
Gardner Police posted a series of images on Facebook on Tuesday documenting the "wildlife." There's a woman in a wolf mask, a person on all fours wearing an ape suit, another person in a camouflage ghillie suit and someone wearing what appears to be a gas mask.
One of the odder sightings shows a person with a walker holding a strange object, but it's not clear what's going on. It looks like an outtake from a horror movie. And, oh yes, there's Santa Claus with a beer bottle.
The wildlife cameras did manage to capture some actual wildlife, including a skunk, a raccoon and a coyote. The cops have a sense of humor about the pranks, writing, "We would like to sincerely thank the persons responsible as it made our day when we pulled up what we expected to be hundreds of pictures of coyotes, foxes and raccoons."
