When you think about work trucks, you probably think about big rumbling vehicles with a thundering diesel under the hood.
Well, workhorse is out to change that with this.
The W 15.
It is an EV pickup truck.
With a range of just 80 electric miles you might think it would be a little tough to get this out to the far off workplaces, but there is a range extender lifted directly out of the BMW I-8 Now that ups the range to 310 electric miles.
And since it's a work truck, you can also run your power tools directly from it.
The payload is 2,200 pounds, and it can tow about 5,000 pounds.
The body's made out of a carbon fiber composite cuz hey, you've gotta save weight somewhere, right?
You've got all these batteries to compensate for.
And there's even some driving aides like forward autonomous breaking, and lane departure warning.
The truck looks pretty good, but I have seen a few fit and finish problems here on the concept, but they've got until 2019 to get it right when they start delivering to customers.
And what about the price?
$52,500 You can go to WorkHorse and order yours today.
