5 - Jeep Grand Cherokee (8.4) $43,085 (Limited) EC: May
Mature lines that are more Land Rover than Grizzly Adams, one of the easiest to use touchscreen interfaces in the
business with modern tech behind it and REAL offroad ability -- not just Ã¯Â¿Â½offroadÃ¯Â¿Â½ like when you drive over a shrub at the
mall -- makes this one of the best of the year that you can afford.
4 - BMW M6 Gran Coupe (8.5) $130,725 EC: November
This is a have it all car of the year: M power, adaptive suspension, track class handling combined with 4 doors, perhaps
the most connected cabin in the world and the best lines of any car in our list.
The price is unconscionable, so IÃ¯Â¿Â½d head for
a 650i in a heartbeat, but if you have the money, this is your new hotrod.
3 - 2014 Mercedes S550 (9.1) $110,400 EC: August
In one swoop Mercedes scooped up the S Class and rescued it from a lardy fate at the hands of the country club valet.
Space and pace still abound in this big barn burner but so do connected LCDs everywhere inside and LEDs everywhere
Combined with much sleeker styling, it suddenly feels much less an old manÃ¯Â¿Â½s car.
2 - Audi S6/S7 (9.4) $80,400-$87,200 EC: March
Everyone seems to love this 4-door coupe, which is more than I can say for some others...that inexplicably silky Audi S
power and Drive Select that transform it into almost 3 different cars.
Google Earth, handwriting recognition and all of it
The S6 is scored equally high in a sedan package and we started to almost get bored with Audi excellence
1 - Tesla Model S (late 2012) (9.4) $80,320 EC: Dec 2012
Technically a very late 2012 review for us, but it reverberated loudly through 2013.
The first really aspirational electric car
from a company you thought would be here tomorrow.
Love that absurdly large 17Ã¯Â¿Â½ LCD center panel and the clean sheet
21st century touches everywhere.
But TeslaÃ¯Â¿Â½s remain pricey and battery safety concerns perhaps need monitoring.
this was the car everyone was asking me about in 2013 and it scored highest of all.
