If you're a fan of driving fast and taking chances, then you are probably a fan of the Subaru WRX STI.
Well, what if I told you that you can get an STI that's more powerful than the stock one?
It's even more powerful than the Type RA.
I'm talking about the new S209.
Now is the first STI S-line performance model that will get in the States, and they're only going to make 200 of them.
So you better get to that dealership fast.
And speaking of fast, this S209 uses the same 2.5 liter turbo charge engine that you'll find in the stock STI but it ups the ante up to 341 horsepower.
Thanks to a better turbine and compressor pushing out more of that sweet Sweet boost.
And the torque is up, too, up 10% when it's down low, around 3,600 RPM, so you can get all that coming out of a turn when you most need it.
Now the S209 takes a few cues from the Nurembergring Challenge racecar.
It's wider overall, it's got a wider track, buldging fender flairs.
Thee's a whole bunch of aero on it, and you know this thing has got carbon fiber, am I right?
Carbon fiber roof and a carbon fiber wing.
And you can get the S209 in blue with grey wheels but honestly if I see any S209 out there that is not the white with the gold wheel combination I don't even know what I'm gonna do.
You gotta get the gold wheels, folks, or it's not a real STI Now the S209, of course, has got all-wheel drive with that awesome six-way locking center differential, with limited slip differentials on both the front and the rear.
Inside, well you've got some Recaro seats maybe a little sued and leather here and there.
But essentially it's the same as the stock, so no big changes there.
We've got no word on pricing yet, but the Type RA, that starts around $50,000 so this baby here is not gonna be cheap.
