Subaru Viziv Adrenaline concept gives a look at new 'Bolder' design
Cars
This blue bad boy here is Subaru's Viziv Adrenaline concept.
The latest in a series of Subaru Viziv concept vehicles.
And while it looks like it previews a next generation of Subaru's crowd favorite cross trek, it's actually a showcase of Subaru's upcoming design language, called Boulder.
Not like more bold, but capital B, Boulder.
Now there's a lot to like here in the details.
In particular, I liked the way those tail pipes are integrated into the bumper design and stick right through.
I also like the sharp headlights and tail lights and how the grey cladding is integrated into the shape of the body rather than feeling tacked on as is often the case in previous generation.
Up top, we've got silver trim that seems to ask the question, what would happen if your roof rails were integrated into the structure of the vehicle?
And they do give this car a really architectural feel up top.
I'm also digging the general profile and silhouette of this vehicle.
It's all rubbing me in a really good way.
However when those details come together, they don't exactly deal for me.
This is some weird looking car.
I'm not sure if I like it.
Then again, every major shift in Subaru design is taking a little bit of getting used to.
So hopefully this will grow on me as well.
