[MUSIC] I'm here at the New York auto show where Toyota has just rolled out the 2017 Prius Prime. Now, what is the Prius Prime? It's actually a new generation of the Prius plug-in. They've previously had a Prius plug-in, but this one is based on the all new Prius hybrid. I've driven this new Prius before. And it's really good at handling, the dynamics are greatly improved. So I expect to see that with this new Prius Prime model as well. Now a plug in hybrid means you can actually plug it in and get real electric range out of this. This one does 22 miles on its 8 kilowatt hour battery. That doesn't sound like much, but it's actually twice what the previous Prius plug in did and with that and the hybrid drive system, you're talking 120 miles per gallon equivalent. That's actually the most efficient car you can buy today. But actually you can't buy this yet. This will become available in the Fall. They haven't listed pricing for it yet either. But one remarkable thing about this car versus the standard Prius hybrid is a whole new infotainment system. This actually has an optional 11 inch portrait-style touchscreen on the dashboard, that's pretty dramatic in the cabin. And you can also get Toyota's latest driver system [UNKNOWN], which they also have on the Prius hybrid. That means adaptive cruise control, automatic breaking in case it detects a pedestrian or something else in its path, So this is also going to be a very safe, a very modern car. Of course with the extra weight of that bigger battery, we'll have to see how it drives, once we get it on the road.
