[music 00:03] I'm here in San Francisco where Google has announced that what it formerly called it's self-driving car project is now an independent company called Waymo. This company run by CEO John Krafcik is going to focus on self-driving car technology platform, they're not going to build their own cars, but they're going to license this technology to other companies. Google has been developing this technology since 2009 and it announced today that one of its big accomplishments came last year when it had a fully self driving car this is level 5 with no steering wheel or pedal take a blind person Steve Man for a ride in Austin he is the first person to taken a ride in a fully self driving car Many of us will end up doing in the future. Waymo's self-driving cars rely on radar, lidar and cameras to see the world around them and a computer to make driving decisions. Waymo isn't ready to sell it's self-driving car technology to other companies yet, it's still in an R&D phase. But this technology should come out sometime in the near future. [MUSIC]
