AutoComplete: Waymo completes 8 million test miles on public roads
Here's what's making news on Road Show.
Waymo continues it's march towards autonomy with exponential growth in the amount of real world testing it's been able to do.
The company just managed to crest the 8 mile mark with another 5 billion, that's billion with a b, miles tested in simulation.
With the amount of real world testing done and it's impeccable safety record would be shocked if anybody beat Waymo to true safe level four or five autonomy at this point.
Finally, all you Europeans can soon live out all your Steve Urkel fantasies without polluting thanks to the Microlino electric city car.
The Microlino is an electron powered homage to BMW's Isetta bubble car, complete with the adorably zany, front opening, refrigerator style door thing.
We'll probably never get this little wonder here in the US thanks to our natural mistrust of small vehicles and our super gnarly safety regulations.
Hyundai's In Performance brand is gunning for the Europeans in the hot hatch category with the i30 N and now the US bound Veloster N.
But that's clearly not enough for division head Albert Biermann who still clearly has an axe to grind.
That's why Hyundai is working on a real deal no BS performance Halo car.
Given how good Hyundai's sister brand Kia Stinger is, there's clearly a lot to look forward to here.
