Today is August 5th, and here's what's making news on Road Show. Mercedes may soon unveil an all electric sub-brand similar to BMW's i. Sources told Bloomberg that the auto maker will roll out four new electric vehicles Two sedans and two SUVs under a separate currently unnamed sub brand. The first of these vehicles is believed to debut at the Paris Motor Show this September. Nissan's latest electric vehicle is pretty corny, but not it the way you might be thinking. It's prototype features an ethanol fuel cell which converts sustainably sourced bioethanol into electricity. It doesn't require the complicated expensive infrastructure required for traditional fuel cells, which run on compressed hydrogen gas. It will soon test this new powertrain on public roads in Brazil. Toyota already manufactures the majority of Japan's taxi cabs. But his grip on my industry is set to expand in 2017. The auto maker is working with Japan's taxi industry to create a next generation cab which will be developed with families, the elderly, and tourists in mind. Those groups have wildly different needs, so it should be interesting to see how Toyota can balance all that in a single vehicle.
