[MUSIC] Look, I wouldn't blame you if you don't ordinarily put off-road and Toyota RAV4 in the same sentence. Ordinarily, I wouldn't, either. But a surprise debut at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show has changed my mind. Toyota has debuted the 2020 RAV4 Toyota Off Road here, at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. While many other automakers only offer some semblance of off-road capability, Toyota went and one-upped them all by adding some proper parts that really should help when the going gets dirty. Hiding under the body is an improved TRD suspension that Toyota says is inspired by Ryan Millen's RAV4 rally car. It's engineered to soak up smaller bumps without translating them to the cabin, yet there is still increased wheel travel to soak up some of the larger stuff. Capping off the new parts enhancements are a set of 18-inch TRD alloy wheels and Falcon all terrain tires. The RAV4 TRD off road barrows most of its chunky good looks from the RAV4's adventure trim. Now that's not a problem for me because if there's one thing I love in this world is good set of fender flares. Inside there' s red stitching and trim throughout with additional TRD stitching on the front headrest. [UNKNOWN] Under hood it's just the same old RAV4 as usual. There's a 203 horsepower, 2.5 liter in line four, but all TRD Off Road trims of RAV4 comes with standard all wheel drive. The 2020 Toyota RAV4 TRD Off Road goes on sale this fall. Pricing hasn't yet been announced, but for contact's sake, a RAV4 adventure will set you back about 33 grand. [MUSIC]
