Meet the most fuel efficient Toyota Corolla ever, the 2020 Corolla hybrid sedan.
And that's because what Toyota has done is basically done what many think is the obvious and that's drop the Prius's 1.8 Liter 121 horsepower hybrid powertrain under the hood where it puts power to the front wheels via a CBT.
Now with a Prius powertrain, it gets Prius levels of fuel economy at around 50 miles per gallon combined.
And fortunately, it doesn't use the same weird technology on the inside as the Prius.
Instead, it has the same seven-inch infotainment system you'll find in the Corolla Hatchback, which basically means it comes standard with Apple CarPlay.
Though sadly, Android Auto will not be supported out of the box.
With standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, driver rate, and safety features, this will be an interesting and more conventional alternative to the Prius hatchback when it arrives in Spring 2019.
Stay tuned to the rest of our coverage of the 2018 LA Auto Show for even more cool car diddies.
