The second part to Mazda's one two concept car punch here at the Tokyo Motor Show is the K concept which gives us a preview likely of what the next generation Mazda 3 hatchback will look like.
Mazda says the K wears a more mature version of todays design language with slimmer light treatments and today's sharper lines replaced with smoother flowing While it [UNKNOWN] like a dinky door handles and exterior mirrors will likely not make it to the production car.
For the interior, things are evolutionary with the straight forward gauges, steering wheel and shifter.
The biggest difference from today's car is the infotainment system that lives inside the interior of the dash instead of the current floating tap at look Power in he Kai concept is Mazda's Skyactiv-X engine, which is a gas engine that uses a compression ignition system similar to a diesel.
The result is a more efficient engine that, when combined with a supercharger, can also produce a good amount of horsepower.
Mazda hasn't said when we're gonna see a new production Mazda 3, but if it looks like the Kai concept, I'm gonna consider that a win.
Let's just hope Mazda is cooking up a new Mazda speed version for the new car too.
