Hi, I'm Wayne Cunningham here at the 2014 Paris Motorshow getting our first look at the Jaguar XE.
The Jaguar XE is actually the least exciting and most exciting of the Jaguar cars at this show.
The reason why it's the most exciting is because it competes with cars like the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4.
It's Jaguar's first car to compete in this mid-size sedan segment.
It's also least exciting because when you compare it to the other cars in the Jaguar range, it's the most pedestrian.
We have three different engines for the Jaguar XE.
For the Jaguar XES.
We get a super charged, three litre, six cylinder.
That's the same engine as in the base Jaguar S-type.
That does 340 horse power, a pretty powerful engine for this car.
Then we also get a four cylinder, turbo charged with direct injection.
They have two levels of that.
One does 240 horse power, and one does 200 horse power.
The body is actually 75% aluminum.
That's quite a bit for this segment.
You don't really find other mid-size sedan cars with this much aluminum in their body structure.
Now being a Jaguar, it's got a very comfortable interior.
Let's take a look inside.

We've got typical Jaguar.
Drive line components inside of the cabin here, for example, we have this dial controller for the eight speed automatic transmission, you'll find that in plenty of other Jaguar cars, we have these mode buttons here for sports and eco, and then we have this entirely new head unit here, this was an entirely new system that we'll probably see rule out the other Jaguar cars.
We have a tiled interface on an eight inch touch screen.
We've got radio, phone, navigation and climate control in this sort of four quadrant design.
I hit the, navigation button for example.
Brings up the map.
This nice looking 3-D perspective map.
Go back to home, beyond these basic functions I can also push this side button and get some other functions here.
We have in control apps, that's actually app suites that will integrate your smart phone with the car.
We have a wi-fi hot spot, we have a surround view camera system, we should also have a laser head-up display system.
That's a new Dagger feature as well.
We won't be able to see that now, but hopefully when we get this car in for review we can check that out.
The Jaguar XE will be available to world markets next year in 2015.
But we won't get it in the United States until 2016, and that will probably only be the XES with the super-charged engine.
