Insignia NS-CNV43 internet connected GPSThis Internet-connected GPS device checks all of the right boxes, but what about the performance?
[ Background music ] >> Antuan Goodwin: Have you ever found yourself on a date with someone who checks all the right boxes but the connection just wasn't there? That's how we felt after spending time with this baby. I'm Antuan Goodwin and taking a first look at the Insignia NS-CNV43 internet connected GPS device. Insignia is Best Buy's house brand and at first glance the NS-CNV43 should be a terrific value. It's got a big 4.3 inch touch screen, internet connectivity with traffic, weather, fuel prices, local events and Google POI search and Bluetooth hands free calling. All the features that make the Garmin Nuvi 1690 so sweet but at $200 rather than $500. Toss in Twitter integration that tweets your destination and estimated travel time to your followers and haptic feedback that gives a rumble affect when a touch is registered and you'll probably be wondering why this isn't an Editor's Choice Video. However, once you get the NS-CNV43 on the road it's easy to see past the bullet points to the GPS devices primary flaw; it's as slow as cold molasses. From the time you hit the power button it takes about 2 minutes for the device to boot after which you have to wait and additional minute or so for the satellite lock. Toss in the slow POI search and even slower trip routing and you're looking at almost 10 minutes from the time you get in the car till the time you're moving. Low price or not sitting around waiting for the GPS device to think get's really old really fast. Fortunately, once you actually do get moving the NS-CNV43 is a perfectly competent device that got us from point A to point B with few issues and we have to honest $200 for an internet connected GPS device is a heck of a deal. Until then I'm Antuan Goodwin and this has been your first look at the Insignia NS-CNV43 internet connected navigation device. ^M00:02:01 [ Music ]
