Well here at SEMA 2019.
Honda is out to show us that you can use your crossover for more than just a grocery getter.
And Case in point is the 2019 Honda passport.
That's an actual rally car.
Now it's pretty stock but there are a few things in here, most notably by design LED lights.
There's a roll cage, different wheels, and tires, and of course the ubiquitous giant handbrake.
But you've still got the stock motor and transmission under the hood here at 3.5 liter V6.
Good for 280 horsepower and 262 pound feet of torque.
That's made into a nine speed automatic transmission and you've even got paddle shifters.
For all those cool quick downshift into the turns, and hey, it was good enough to win second place in the southern Ohio forest rally.
I mean, first loser, but hey, you're still on the podium.
And we got another one below me and let's see what they got.
Alright, so I know what you're thinking a CRV for overland a like that's just ridiculous.
You will notice I've always said the first thing that you wanna do if you're gonna go overlanding is you wanna have an upgraded wheel entire package and here they've gone with some nouveau riche granular tires on 17 inch KMC wheels and you got enough room for that because there is a one and a half inch lift on this bad boy.
Got an aftermarket bumper, little skin played some extra lighting But this is still rocking the standard powertrain, which is new this year.
A 1.5 liter turbo charged 4 cylinder engine, good for a 190 horsepower, about 170 pound feet of torque.
But I want you to come around to the back because that is what is really cool.
But of course, when you're over landing, right.
I mean, you've got to have a rooftop tent that goes without saying.
So, when you come around here in the back what I really like is his custom bumper that puts your spare tire in the back here outside of the car and you've got an extra mount for water and fuel.
And what you need to do is swing this all the way around, lock that into place, and then back here, since all of these things are outside of the car, you've got room for extra cool stuff in here.
A drawer storage system And of course, I mean you've got to have a fridge when you're going over landing, right?
Yeah.
Water is right here.
So what I really enjoy is that Honda is showing that, you know what?
Because you have a cross over doesn;t mean you got to live a boring, non adventurous life.
Anyway, I hope you liked all of these videos.
