You know what you don't hear much about anymore manual transmissions.
Even before this pandemic automaker budgets for brand new models featuring three pedals well, they just about one to zero worldwide.
That's one very good reason why Cadillacs just confirmed CT4V and CT5V blackwing.

Confusingly despite these cars official names, you're not hearing the new 6.2 liter blackwing v eight the develops 550 horsepower in the CT six v Blackwing is now GM Code Speak for the pinnacle model of given Cadillac in a range regardless of what power plant is under the hood.
In any case, along with sending out this tasty audio teaser, GM has confirmed to RoadShow that these Blackwing models will come standard with a stick shift and the automatic Well, that'll be optional.

Thanks to world events, these models have been pushed back and will now carry 2022 model year designations.
In fact, Caddie says we won't even see these cars undisguised until Q1 of next year.
So for now, we're going to have to contend ourselves with the already announced standards CT for V And CT5 v non black wing models.
Both of which are automatic only, and are said to be much less powerful.
Capisce?
In the meantime, GM says its forthcoming black wings will be undergoing further performance testing.
They note that they've already been lapping racetracks like VAR Quicker than the ATSV and the CTSV, both of which were seriously fast machines.
So we still don't know how many cylinders these new cars will have, let alone how many horsepower.
That said it sounds like it could be worth waiting for these two black wings to take flight, especially since you'll be able to get them with DIY gearbox.
