I'm in the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe with the RST special edition.
This is just the latest big people mover to get a super big power boost.
Now RST stands for rally sport truck and if you're gonna go this far, you might as well get the optional performance package.
It's an extra $2800 but you get a 6.2 litre V8 engine, which is good for 420 horsepower and 460 pound feet of torque.
And that is mated to GM's new ten speed automatic transmission.
But the cool part about the performance package is magnetic ride control.
I love this.
It basically monitors the pavement constantly.
And then it provides you with a stiff ride when you need it, but a soft and compliant ride when you want it.
Now even with magnetic ride control, I'm not gonna say that the Tahoe is a fun ride.
I mean you can fit like nine people in here, it is giant.
You're gonna be crazy if you're gonna be tossing this thing into the turn.
The 0 to 60 time, I mean it's pretty quick.
0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds.
It's pretty pale in comparison to the Dodge Durango SRT, but it's not bad.
And I really love this ten speed automatic transmission.
It shifts really quickly, really smoothly.
And it's going to give you the kind of gas mileage that you hope you're gonna be able to get from something like this.
Which [NOISE] Not so much.
Although, right now I'm getting about 18 miles per gallon.
So not too bad for a car that weighs over 5,000 pounds.
Now, you've got a few options when it comes to other muscle SUVs.
We've already talked a little bit about that Dodge Durango SRT.
There's also the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which is super quick.
The Tahoe RST starts at about $65,000 but this one I'm in here with all of the bells and whistles, 78 grand.
I know man, it's real, real expensive but as they say, there's no replacement for displacement.
See ya, suckers.
