AutoComplete: Porsche's Taycan pricing might give Tesla a tough time
Here's what's making news on Road Show.
Porsche's cool-looking Taycan stands ready to give Tesla's Model S a hard time when it comes to market in more ways than one.
Now Porsche is telling us that it plans to price the Taycan somewhere in between the Panamera and the Cayenne, which According to our hasty calculations, should put it at around 75 grand to start.
Of course, this is Porsche we're talking about so expect that list of options to be long and ready to drive that price way, way up.
Well, it's just like old Bob Dylan said, the times they are a changing because now we have four American states that have legalized the recreational use of the devil's lettuce.
America's more polite neighbor to the north has also legalized it.
What effect then is this having on people's driving?
Well, according to the IIHS, it's caused a 6% bump in collisions.
Is that number going to increase with time, or, as more anti-driving while high education becomes more common, will that level out or even decrease?
What do you think?
McLarens aren't cheap cars.
That's no surprise but neither are they terribly opulent instead choosing to focus solely on performance which is why when we heard that Maca was offering white gold in carbon fiber badges on its forthcoming hyper fast and hyper limited.
Speed Tail model, we were a little surprised.
That gold badge weighs almost a quarter of a pound.
So for those owners obsessed with ounces, the folks at Wilken will also replace that badge with a good old-fashioned lacquered over sticker.
