All-electric 2019 Kia Niro EV debuts at the LA Auto Show
<< Kia's Niro Hybrid and plug-in hybrid's crossover gain a third sibling with a debut of this, the 2020 Niro EV.
So here's what you need to know: under the hood, there's a 200 horsepower electric motor that makes 291 pound beat of torque and sends it to the front wheels.
It draws power from a 64 kilowatt hour lithium ion battery pack that enables an EPA estimated range of 239 miles.
It can be recharged at a level two charging station in about nine and a half hours, so basically an overnight charge.
But if you can find a combination DC fast charging station, you can get up to 80% in just over an hour.
Now other than the plug in the front and the electric motor under the hood, this is basically your standard Kia Niro EX or EX premium model.
There's no base model gonna be available for the electric vehicle.
Availability will be in 2019 and we should learn more about the pricing and packaging then.
In the meantime, stay tuned to the rest of our coverage of the 2018 LA Auto Show for more cool debuts like this one.
