Speaker 1: For the 2018 model year, the latest generation of Lincoln navigator came out swinging delivering the brand's unique, take on luxury and succeeding in the process. Now, four model years later, it's time for a bit of a freshening up say hello to the 2022 Lincoln. Let's go see what's different since it's just a mid cycle. Refresh the 2022 navigator doesn't look all that different from the car that precedes it. But there are a few changes for the [00:00:30] keen eyes out there, such as new headlamps in the front new taillights in the rear new bumpers, front and rear. In addition to a few unique grill designs, one of which is specific to the black label trim. The interior has a few adjustments up its sleeve as well. Two new black label themes, central park and invitation offer unique styles that help elevate the Lincoln's craftsmanship above and beyond the usual base model fair.
Speaker 1: The 30 way power seats get a revised massaging system in the front row. While the second row gets a massaging system is an option for the first time. In addition to now packing standard [00:01:00] heating and ventilation while we're in here, let's talk tech upfront is a new infotainment screen. Now measuring an impressive 13.2 inches and the computer tucked away in the back that runs the sync for infotainment system has been given double the computing power, apple CarPlay and Android auto are now offered wirelessly and a new over the air software update system should make it easier to add more features over time in the second row occupants, get a 5.8 inch display that lets them adjust climate and audio settings. While a new 10.1 inch rear entertainment [00:01:30] system offers well, all the entertainment you could need with extra onboard storage and wireless streaming on the safety front Lincoln has added two features to its compliment of active and passive driver aids that it calls Lincoln co-pilot 360 2 0.0, the navigator will now prevent you from making a left turn across traffic.
Speaker 1: If it detects a possible collision scenario while park out assist, we'll help you get out of a tricky space. If somebody has parked perhaps just a little too closely to that sheet metal, but the coolest technological addition in the 2022 [00:02:00] navigator is what Lincoln calls active glide other wise known in Ford parlance as blue crews. This combines adaptive cruise control lane, keep assist and speed limit recognition to help keep the vehicle in its lane and keep pace with not only traffic, but also changing speed limits while on certain Prema sections of the highway, allowing hands-free operation, having just recently tested this in the Ford F-150 I can promise you that it's pretty sweet.
Speaker 1: That leaves us with the parts that you don't normally see. [00:02:30] The 3.5 liter twin turbo V6 returns for 2022. Now making 440 horsepower and 510 pound feet of torque, which is routed through all four wheels by way of a 10 speed automatic transmission, a newly available adaptive suspension that now includes camera and sensors to detect the road ahead and change the DAMing sum 100 times per second. As you go, if you're a fan of towing, the heavy duty tow package now offers multiple trailering views and steering guidance to make that whole process a little easier. The 2022 [00:03:00] Lincoln navigator goes on sale a later this year and pricing will be released closer. It's on sale date.
