Listen up hybrid nerds, Toyota has got a whole new hybrid system that it's showing off here at the New York auto show on the 2020 Toyota Highlander, this is three room inside SUV is rocking the predicted efficient drive which learns your driving habits, looks at the way ahead through GPS so that it can apply the max efficiency of the electric part of the drive train.
That's right, Your hybrid is now sentient.
And Toyota says that the Highlander can get up to 34 miles per gallon, which represents a 17% increase over the outgoing model.
And that's pretty good for a vehicle that can seat up to eight people.
But look, if that hybrid power train freaked you out, don't worry, you can still get the 3.5-liter V6 engine, good for 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque.
The new continues on the inside with a whole bunch of new tech, including a large twelve point three inch screen that can run Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
Took you long enough, Toyota.
Plus, all Highlander's get Toyota's safety sense suite of driver's stage, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist.
However, funnily enough, blind spot monitoring?
You're going to have to pay extra for.
On the outside the Highlander gets much more aggressive styling, I really like this kind of this would be lying that we've got going on this side.
But that front it has got like a 90 front angle little snub-nosed going on there and in the back it looks like it's can I get punched in a little bit on the quarter panel but hey you can get the baller 20 inch wheels so it's not all bad.
We've got no word on pricing yet on the 2020 Highlander yet but we should see it in dealerships later this fall.
