Are you looking for a fuel efficient sport sedan?
Well have a Gander at the 2020 BMW 3 series plug in hybrid here at the Geneva motor show.
This bad boy sports a 2 liter turbocharged engine under the hood that is mated to an 83 kilowatt electric motor.
And that in turn is getting its go to juice from a 12 kilowatt hour battery.
I'll tell you got 252 horses, which is four more than the last 330 E series.
And speaking of the last generation, that one only got 14 miles of all electric range.
This guy here should get about 37, but, and this is a big but that is on the European cycle.
We test things a little bit differently in America., so expect that range to go down just a bit when it hits the States.
This is no stayed plug-in hybrid thanks to Extra Boost.
It's kind of a instant turbo boost mode that can give you an extra 41 horsepower.
So you can say, Extra Boost just kicked in, yo!
As you go from zero to 62 miles an hour in six seconds.
Now, you can only get that extra power for about ten seconds, but you're still getting quicker shifts, quicker throttle response, and a more aggressive exhaust Note.
So it's a bonus all the way around.
An 8-speed automatic transmission puts the power to the rear wheels.
But an all wheel drive system, of course, will be available as well.
And here's the best thing.
We've already driven these guys.
