X2 crossover concept looks a bit brutish for a BMW
With the debut of the X2 crossover, BMW has no fewer than six to choose from.

Check out the new X2 concept from BMW.
We don't know much about the powerplant, but we can assume it will be similar to the 2-liter, four-banger twin turbo that's currently in the X1.
Like the X6 and X4 before it, the X2 Concept features a sleek roof line that cuts into both cargo space and rearward visibility.
When this goes to production -- and it will -- it will probably be smoothed over with more traditional BMW design tenets.
Notice anything different about the kidney grille? It flares towards the bottom instead of towards the top. Yowza.
That is some kind of exhaust outlet there.
When it hits the market, it will likely slot in as a competitor to the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class.
You know it's a concept because of the fakey-fake tires.
The conceptual elements of the X2 -- the slim lights and exaggerated front features -- are actually quite handsome.
Like other BMW crossovers, it features a bit of off-roading pretense that will rarely, if ever, be put to use.
Nevertheless, the X2 will probably sell like hotcakes when it reaches production.
