Put on your boogie shoes for the Disco Volante Spyder (pictures)

Based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider, the Disco Volante Spyder is an instant classic in carbon fiber.

The Disco Volante Spyder sports the Alfa Romeo badge and much of the front fascia.

The influence of classic 1960s design is evident in the straight style line cutting off the wheel well.

The wheels remain unchanged from the donor car.

It's all about those farings. Not only do they add high style, they also help the Disco Volante cut through the air like a knife.

The rear keeps the round taillights from the 8C donor car, but the whole fascia has been pushed outward.

Huge dual exhausts and a rear diffuser finish off the back end.

Only seven of the Disco Volante Spyder roadsters will be made. Three of them are already spoken for.

While the headlight housing looks to be the same as the 8C donor car, the Disco Volante takes a more subtle approach to lighting the road ahead.

The Spyder is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine, good for 450 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque.

We'll save the lovely lady lumps for the Black Eyed Peas, but these farings have it going on.

While we'd love to see an actual stick shift here, the push-button six-speed sequential transmission is pretty cool.
